About tooling

Why a mould makes a run of pieces worthwhile

Every moulded fibreglass piece starts with a pattern, a full-size replica of your finished piece. The mould is taken from the pattern, and every piece you order is made from that mould.

Because the mould is made once, its cost is shared across every piece that comes out of it. That's why fibreglass works so well for a run: a collection for a brand or a designer, a set of lit pieces for showrooms, or an architectural detail repeated along a building. One-offs are welcome too, when the piece is right for it.

How a job works

What happens, in order

  1. Tell us about it

Describe the piece and how many you need. You'll get a free feasibility check.

  2. Drawing signed off

A sketch or photo is fine to start. Nothing is made until you've signed off the drawing.

  3. Made and finished

A pattern and mould are made, then your pieces are moulded, finished and checked.

  4. Delivered and fitted

Anywhere in the UK, and fitted on site if the job needs it.

Typical lead time from order to delivery is six to eight weeks, depending on the piece.

Questions people ask

The things people ask before they commit

Can you make just one?

Yes, when the piece is right for it. Call us on 01829 262628 and we'll tell you honestly whether it makes sense.

Can you work from a sketch or a photograph?

Yes, as a starting point. A proper drawing is needed to make the pattern, and nothing is made until you've signed it off.

How much does it cost?

Every piece is different, so there's no price list. It depends on the piece, the size, the finish and how many you need. That's what the free feasibility check is for, or call us and we'll talk it through.

How long does it take?

Six to eight weeks from order to delivery is typical. Complex pieces can take longer.

Do you deliver? Do you fit?

Both. Delivery anywhere in the UK, on-site fitting where it's needed, and pieces have been shipped overseas.
